There are so many benefits of exercise.
I'm sure you've heard the expression, "Use it or lose it."
This can apply to many different areas in your life including the physical state of your body.
If you were to do an experiment where you kept one of your arms bound up for a couple of weeks, you would notice after letting it free again that it is much, much weaker than the other one that was being used all along. (Please do not try this experiment out for yourself - trust me!)
If you are not active, the same thing will happen to your body. It will become much weaker and you will find it harder and harder to do physical tasks. You'll have less energy, and you will catch colds and other illnesses much more easily.

Physical activity is one of the laws of our being. We were created to move.
One of the major benefits of exercise is that it helps you to have a healthier and stronger body.
Exercise also helps you to stay younger longer. A lot of health experts now agree that exercise really is a fountain of youth!
Exercise benefits everyone. Whether you are a young child, a teenager, an adult or a senior, you can enjoy some form of exercise.
New to exercise? Not sure where to begin? Why not start by walking?

All of the benefits of exercise that you just read about can be yours if you walk on a regular basis. Walking is great because it exercises all the major muscles in your body.
The great thing about walking is that you don't need to invest in expensive equipment or even a membership at the local gym.
All you need to do is just put on some casual clothes and a pair of comfy walking shoes and head outside.
The best place to walk is in an area where you are surrounded by fresh air and the beautiful scenes of nature. If you are walking alone, be sure to walk in an area where there are lots of other people around.
If you're just starting out, go slowly and walk a short distance. As you become more comfortable, build up your speed and distance.
If you are not able to walk at all, you can try some gentle stretching or some deep breathing exercises.
As your health begins to improve, you can slowly add more exercises. Click here for more exercise ideas.

NOTE: If you are starting up an exercise program for the first time, be sure to consult with your doctor first.
You should also get clearance from your doctor first if you're taking medication or suffering from an illness.
