What is the best sugar substitute?

Michelle says: That's a very good question. There are a lot of different sugar substitutes available these days. Some are healthy and others are not.

Artificial sweeteners and refined sweeteners are not healthy choices. They don't provide you with any nutritional value. What's worse is that they can damage your health in so many different ways. Read these two articles to learn the dangers of two very popular sugar substitutes:

There are many different (and delicious) options when it comes to natural sweeteners. You can choose from:

I'm a huge fan of variety, so I use all of these. What is the best one really depends on what you are sweetening. Each one has its own unique flavor and texture. For best results, choose a natural sweetener that compliments the flavor and texture of the dish you are making.

Have fun with it! Soon enough, you'll know what works best for you. Hope that helps!

Natvia

Well I agree the artificial sweeteners cause harm to our health, I personally recommend Natvia (http://natvia.com/) which is a natural Sweetener which does not have any side effects.

Michelle says: While natvia may be a much better choice over artificial sweeteners, I still think it's better to use sweeteners that are 100% natural or as close to nature as possible with minimal or no human tampering involved (e.g., raw honey, dates, etc.). Click here to read another discussion I had previously as to why I don't think natvia is the best choice.
