Best Time To Take Fiber, Charcoal, and Supplements?

Should you avoid taking fiber with other supplements? What is the best time to take the charcoal, vitamins, and other supplements?
Michelle says: Hi Janet,
Fiber has the potential to bind with or slow down the absorption of other nutrients. For that reason, it's best to avoid taking your vitamins, minerals, supplements, or medications at the same time you take your fiber supplement. Have your fiber at least 2 hours before or two hours after you take any medications or supplements.
Although charcoal is a powerful adsorbent, it does not adsorb nutrients like vitamins and minerals very well. That being said, charcoal can however adsorb some medications and possibly some other health supplements as well. To be on the safe side, it's best to take charcoal at least 2 hours apart from your supplements and medications.
Keeping the 2 hour rule in mind, charcoal is safe enough to use whenever you need it. Some people choose to use it daily, but I don't think that's necessary unless you are in a situation where you've been recently exposed to toxic chemicals. You can learn more about activated charcoal on this page of my website:
http:/ /www.natural-health-restored.com/activated-charcoal.htmlAs for vitamins and supplements, when you should take them really depends on the supplement itself and the potency of the product you are using. It's best to follow the directions on the container or package as they will be based on that information. It can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.
Hope that helps!
