On this page you'll find some exercise ideas to help you get more physically active.

Exercise does NOT have to be boring!

The key to success is to find a few activities that you really enjoy.

Snowboarding is a great exercise idea.

Ideally you should have one or two favorites for each season of the year.

You'll get a whole lot more out of your workouts if you actually enjoy what you are doing.

Not sure what you like?

Try experimenting with new activities. You just never know when you'll find a new favorite.

A few winters ago I tried snowboarding for the first time.

Yep, that's me in the picture! ;-)

Instantly I was hooked. What a fun and exhilarating workout!

Read through this list of exercise ideas and pick the ones that appeal the most to you:

Once you've become more active, you'll probably want to take it to the next level and get toned...

My friends Tom and Shaye from fitness-training-at-home.com will show you how. They've got some great step-by-step exercises you can do in the comfort of your own home. You'll be stretched and toned in record time!

One thing to remember as you get on the active track, is this: Take your time!

It takes time to get used to new habits. If you do too much all at once, you may end up feeling overwhelmed. Or worse, you could injure yourself.

A few years ago I took a step class that was way too advanced for me. I was just a beginner at the time. I didn't even know the proper names for all the moves.

Not surprisingly I ended up doing the wrong step at the wrong time - the entire class! Needless to say, I did get my workout.

Lesson learned? Take things one step at a time (no pun intended). ;-)

I can't emphasize enough just how important it is to start out at a level that is appropriate to your skills. Going down the black diamond hill wouldn't be much fun for someone on their very first ski trip. It could be a very painful (and unforgettable) experience.

All ready? Now get out there and have some fun!
