How Much To Eat For Weight Loss?

(Miami, Fl)

I am very excited to start the 2 meal plan, but have a couple of questions before I start. I currently weigh 133 lbs (have lost nearly 15 lbs in about 15 weeks), but my body has reached a stop for the past 2 weeks and I haven't been able to reach my goal of 125 lbs.

I want to start the 2 meal plan to try something new so my body can shed off the remaining 8 lbs I want, but my question is how much breakfast and lunch should I eat? Do you have an average amount of calorie intake you suggest for a female that is 21 years old and is 5'6"? I don't want to eat until I am packed full, but am concerned I might eat too little to hold off eating between meals.

Thanks a ton.

Congratulations on your weight loss. I know you must be working really hard to have lost that much weight so quickly.

Hopefully you'll find the two meal plan useful. It's a great way to get your body to reach and stay at it's ideal weight.

How much you should eat for each meal is really a matter of individual need. What's right for one person is not necessarily right for another person, even if both have the same height and weight.

If you're a physically active person, then you can get away with eating more. If your work is mostly sedentary, then your body is not going to require as much food.

The best thing to do is to pay attention and really listen to your body. Soon you'll start to have a good understanding of just how much food is enough for your body.

In the beginning, there may be days when you eat too much or too little, but that's okay. As long as you're paying attention and making adjustments as necessary, it will work itself out.

A good rule to follow is to eat just enough until you're starting to feel satisfied. If you balance your meals properly, focusing on lots of fresh produce, whole grains, and enough good quality protein, then you should stay satisfied until your next meal.

If you find that you're consistently hungry between meals, eat a little more. On the other hand, if you're not hungry by your second meal and you've had at least 5 hours between meals, you may be eating too much for breakfast. Play around with the amount of food you eat to see what works best for your body.

Hope that helps!
