Lead Poisoning

How can you find out if you have lead poisoning?

Michelle says: There are many symptoms associated with lead poisoning.

Here are the general symptoms:

* Digestive problems
* Depression
* Dizziness
* Fatigue
* Tooth decay
* Headaches
* Irritability
* Changes in personality and mood
* Difficulty concentrating
* Forgetfulness or memory loss
* Poor coordination
* Weakness in the hands and feet

If someone has severe lead poisoning, they may also experience convulsions, paralysis, and may slip into a coma.

If someone has these symptoms it does not mean that they have lead poisoning. A lot of the symptoms for lead poisoning are seen in other illnesses and disorders.

One key question to ask yourself would be whether or not you have had any exposure to lead or products that contain lead. You will find lead in some paints, some ceramics, some pottery, leaded crystal, and industrial emissions.

Be sure to talk to your medical doctor if you have concerns about lead poisoning. Your physician can run some tests (e.g., blood tests, or urine tests) to see if you have lead poisoning.

Hope that helps!
