I thought it would be fun to share some of my very favorite natural health books with you. I’ve read a lot of books on health, but here I've selected only the books which have truly helped me to learn a lot and experience even greater health.
This book is a classic. It is one of my favorite natural health books because it provides useful information on how your choices in foods affect how you feel physically. It also shows how your diet can also affect your mental and spiritual health as well. This book will give you the solid principles and foundation for healthy eating. It’s a must read book for sure.
This is another classic book. It is one of the best natural health books available because it teaches you the true principles of health, healing, and happiness. It is based on Biblical principles and applies to all areas of your life.
This is one book I’ll definitely be reading over and over again. It’s that deep.
I knew water was important, but this book opened up my eyes to just how critical water is for anyone who wants to be healthy.
This book will teach you (complete with case studies) how simple, humble water can help tremendously with many health problems (from asthma to ulcers).
What have I noticed since drinking enough for my body weight? Less headaches, more energy, and softer hair and skin. This is one of the top natural health books I regularly recommend to my clients.
The China Study is a must read book if you're interested in living a healthy life. It shows you beyond any shadow of a doubt how a meat-based diet plays a role in many different diseases and health conditions such as high cholesterol, cancer, and diabetes.
This book explains the science behind a plant-based diet. You don’t need a science background to enjoy reading it though. The author does take the time to explain the scientific terms he uses.
Simply put, The China Study will open your eyes to what goes on behind the scenes in the health and food industries.
This book uncovers the very shocking truth of what happens in the meat industry and the resulting risk to your health and life.
It is really two natural health books in one. The first book deals with the mad cow disease crisis. The second book deals with the meat industry and how meat eating can affect your health.
This book will help you learn a great deal about the very many uses of activated charcoal.
I love true stories so I was very happy to read the inspiring testimonies, including the authors own personal experiences with activated charcoal. Everyone should know how to use charcoal. It’s that good!
I highly recommend this natural health book to everyone - whether you have “silver” fillings in your mouth or not.
If you’re not affected by dental amalgams, chances are, someone close to you is.
Dr. Hardy gives a really good, easy to understand explanation of the history and use of dental amalgams. He also clearly explains (all backed up by scientific studies) why these kinds of filling are poisonous and destructive to your health. There are healthier options available!
You may find yourself getting angry while you read this book, but it is the perfect resource to spread the word about this unnecessary poisoning of ourselves.
What I like best about the book are the many case studies chronicling the stories of real people who experienced significant changes in their health after having their mercury fillings removed.
Since reading this book, I’ve decided to have my 2 dental amalgams removed as soon as possible. My health has not been the same since I had them put in when I was 18 years old.
I’m not a “raw foodist,” but I am trying to incorporate more raw foods into my diet. I find that it gives me a lot more energy.
So far, this is one of my favorite raw food recipe books because it makes eating raw foods so simple and fun.
I haven't tried out all the recipes in this book yet. But, I must say that the ones I’ve tried so far are absolutely delicious! Here are some of my favorites:
Dreaming About Donut Holes
Summer Berry Cobbler
Save-the-Salmon-Patties with Hollandaise Sauce
Buckwheat Crispies (I love buckwheat because of this book)
Beautifying Pumpkin Seed Mylk
Chocolate Hazelnut Mylk (I made mine with carob instead of cocoa)
If you've got a good blender (preferably a Blendtec or a Vita-Mix but not absolutely necessary) and a food processor, you can prepare most of the recipes. Only a few of recipes (7 in total) call for a dehydrator. And, in many cases, dehydration is an optional step. I don’t have a dehydrator so I just used my oven set at 105 º F and everything came out just fine.
Another thing I like is that the recipes are quick and easy to prepare. Each recipe calls for only a few ingredients. Most of the ingredients in the book are common ingredients that you can find easily. There’s even a handy shopping list in the beginning of the book to make buying ingredients much easier for you.
If you're like me you love sweet treats - at least once in a while. It's probably hard to imagine a dessert that tastes good and is good for your body. These desserts are exactly that.
All of Ani's dessert recipes that I've tried are so good. I actually prefer them over desserts made with refined sugar. They're that good! No kidding!
