I started the two meal plan yesterday.... Why are most people not aware of the two meal plan? They say under eating causes the metabolism to slow down thus promoting weight gain. Are there any famous people or celebrities on this plan?
Michelle says: Hi Lebo, great question. I'm not sure exactly why most people haven't heard about the two meal plan. Here are some possible reasons....
Sometimes the simplest things in life get overlooked because they seem too simplistic to be of any real value to anyone.
Other than that, I think the word about the two meal plan has yet to be spread. My guess is that the word will spread once more people try it, get great results from it, and share their experience with others. It's just a matter of time....
So, please do come back and let us know how it works for you. Maybe your story will inspire a bunch of other people to try it too!
In regards to under eating slowing down your metabolism, yes, your metabolism will slow down (to conserve energy) if you're on a starvation diet where you're not providing your body with the caloric intake it needs.
But, the two meal plan is not a starvation diet. Far from it!
On the two meal plan, you eat well balanced, nutritious meals. You are not in any way restricting yourself from taking in the daily calories your body actually requires. You are simply taking in your daily caloric requirements in two periods during the day instead of three or more.
Eating just two meals a day does not have a negative effect on your metabolism. Rather, it tends to bring your body and digestive system back into balance.
Right now, most people are being told that grazing on 6 meals a day is the healthiest choice for their metabolism. Reality is, it's one of the worst things you could do to your digestive system.
This article tells you why small frequent meals are so unhealthy.
As for celebrities and famous people, I haven't heard of any who are on the two meal plan. But then again, I haven't been paying much attention to what's been happening on that front. I'm not a star gazer, that's for sure. :-)
I did hear of one man who lived past 100 years who attributed eating just two meals a day as part of the reason for his longevity. There are many lab studies that show that eating less promotes longevity.
Hope that answers your questions!
